What to Look Forward To

Meet other members and share your interests with them! You can join our interest groups for books, theatre, travel, drama, film, and more.

Activities & Special Events

AAUW conducts various programs for our members. We have home tours, STEM conferences, science and math camps, and more.

AAUW Fund

It is our goal to help women and girls achieve their dreams. Because of this, we show our support through research and support of fellowship and grant programs.

Membership

We are composed of university women in Shasta County, California and surrounding areas such as Trinity, Siskiyou, Tehama, Modoc, and Glenn counties. To become a member, you must be an associate or equivalent, baccalaureate, or higher degree from a qualified educational institution.

What We Support

Since its founding, AAUW and its members have examined and taken positions on the fundamental issues of the day – education, social, economic, and political. Our commitment to our mission is reflected in all aspects of our work. AAUW’s voice has long influenced legislative debate on critical social issues.

Women of Achievement

Since 1977, Redding Branch AAUW has presented two Women of Achievement awards annually. One award goes to an outstanding member of the Branch and the other is given to a woman from the community at large. Members are encouraged to nominate someone who has gone the extra mile to support the mission of AAUW or to enhance the community with good works.

Community Action Projects

Many join AAUW to enjoy becoming a part of a community of educated people who have an opportunity to get involved in grassroots activism. The Redding Branch has a long history of involvement in important social issues. Our local projects relate to education, health, and equity for women and girls.
